The Octonauts toys are finally on the shelves of many toy shops in the UK. It was a long wait but definitely worth it.
In July 2011, a month before the toys were scheduled to be released, Fisher-Price-Mattel quietly made the toys available for purchase. The Octonauts toys included
- Octonauts Octopod playset
- Gup A Mission Vehicle
- Gup B Toy
- Gup D Toy
- and some playsets with Octonauts figures
Just very recently, Ravensburger also came up with two Octonauts puzzles: the Octonauts Giant Floor Puzzle and the Octonauts 3 in a box jigsaw puzzles.
Octonauts Fans and The Octonauts Toys
Understandably, many parents and Octonauts fans who have been calling/emailing/pressuring Fisher Price to come out with the toys ALREADY, got very excited when the toys were released.
Parents rushed off to toy shops to buy all the Octonauts toys that were available. Many shops ran out of stock in only a week after it was released.
I went to my local toy shop to ask about it and they hadn’t even received their supplies yet and said the supplier was two weeks late for delivery. It’s August now. They still don’t have it. I eventually had to get them from Amazon.
Fisher Price Octonauts Toys
The Fisher-Price Octonauts toys are all very well made and have made lots of little kids very happy indeed. There’s only one complaint many fans are talking about. And that is, the Octonauts figures that come with the toys are only Captain Barnacles, Kwazii Cat and Tunip (which comes with the Barnacles with Tunip set).
No Peso, Shellington, Dashi, Professor Inkling, Tweak or Tunip… Many of the other characters are so very missed.
I think this is largely because Fisher-Price Octonauts toys were released earlier than they should have. I really hope that they have more toys to come which will include the other Octonauts figures / characters as well as the other Gups, too!
Other Octonauts Merchandise For Sale
When looking for other Octonauts merchandise, many parents have to make do with making their own. So if you’re looking for birthday party fillers and other merchandise, you’ll have to make them yourself.
Hopefully, in a few months or so, other Octonauts merchandise will be released as well. I know that there’s going to be an Octonauts duvet due early next year and that you can now preorder the Octonauts DVD which is due to be released on the 7th of November.
